THIS YEAR CHANEL METIERS D’ART COLLECTION WILL BE ENCHANTED BY THE BAROQUE ATMOSPHERE OF SCHLOSS LEOPOLDSKRON.
Karl Lagerfeld is to debut his next Metiers d’Art collection in The Sound of Music territory, at the palace of Schloss Leopoldskron, now an elegant hotel.
Situated on a lake just south of Salzburg, the 18th-century Rococo palace is famed for being one of the country’s finest, and was confiscated by the Nazi party as a national treasure during World War II.
Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection was established in 2002 to showcase the work of its speciality ateliers, including milliner Michel, cashmere producer Barrie, jeweller Desrues, feather-maker Lemarié and shoemaker Massaro. It typically takes place to coincide with the pre-collections, often in exotic locations linked to the fashion house’s past. Previous shows have taken place in Edinburgh, Dallas and Bombay.
The show will take place on December 2.
