IamItalian @ Milan VFNO 2012
VFNO was an initiative lead by Anna Wintour in 2009 to re-gain consumer confidence and to bring life back the shopping scene. Even though the 2009 event was only held in NYC, due to its incredible success the following editions were launched to 100 cities across the U.S. and 19 countries around the globe.
This year the highly awaited Vogue Fashion’s Night Out was back in Milan on Sept. 6th and Rome on Sept. 13th , and will be in Florence on Sept. 18th!
2012. September 6th. Milan. The place IamItalian wouldn’t have missed for the world!
It was surprisingly time for the “Voguest” night of the year, an unique night of dreams and shopping to surf between cocktails, on the road DJ sets, limited editions, and special parties entirely dedicated to fashion addicted.
Me and Luca were ready to venture through the boutique district, well-known as “Quadrilatero della Moda”, as well as in the Duomo and in the Brera areas of the city.
Countless were the appointments waiting for us, but we preferred to miss endless queues to get free drinks and special events indoor, to just walk and walk and walk, and meet people, and see the “real human fashion” hyper-condensed in the streets, and reflect ourselves in the live multicoloured and ultra lightened windows!
What we saw: from haute couture and prêt-a-porter to accessories, jewelry and sunglasses, stratospheric heels, unlikely outfits and combinations, eccentric hair style, jewel clutch, fake eyelashes, vests with fur (even it was around 30°C degrees), and wedges worthy of Lady Gaga. People know that this is the night during which everything is allowed. What results is an amazing wandering mix of past present and future fashion, creativity, show and ostentation.
Who we met: great people wanting to be photographed. And we were there for them!
I would like to thank each one, and my special thanks goes to my friend and great one-night-personal-assistant Luca for his extremely professional and “strategic” support! It has been a fun and crazy night, that we closed sipping some icy beers at the Bar Straf listening to Alex Carrara dj set and his avant-garde music.
Stay tuned, You’reItalian too!
